Director of Photography

ABOUT
I was introduced to photography by my Grandfather who was a racing photographer in the 50s and 60s. He would show me his collection of Leica cameras which fascinated me from an early age.
I moved to London after graduating with a degree in English to work in house at an independent production company where I assisted on many award winning documentary films and series. I was then a researcher and story producer on a number of true crime shows set in the US. It was during this time that I gravitated towards the camera, developing a love and natural aptitude for shooting.
I began my freelance career in the camera department as a clapper/loader before losing hair focus pulling for a number of years. This experience as an assistant gave me a valuable technical grounding but, more importantly, afforded me the opportunity to learn from some of the best DoPs and directors in the country.
While I love the process of creating bold and compelling images my background in production has taught me the importance of being editorially minded and I always try to prioritise story over style.
Over the years I have worked on a variety of critically acclaimed projects for Netflix, Amazon, Nat Geo, Discovery and ITV as well as campaigns for major brands like Rolex, Nike, and Jo Malone.
I'm now based in Bristol and my work sends me all over the world. Recent shoots have taken me to Ghana, India, South Africa, USA, Japan, Jordan, Turkey, Tajikistan, Macedonia, Bosnia, Italy, Spain, Iceland, Greece and Bulgaria.
